Overview: The sequencing of the human genome started a revolution that is illuminating the origins of disease. This is beginning to enable a huge leap forward in terms of rapid, tailored diagnostics, novel therapies and even gene therapy. As commodity pricing increasingly drives the availability of low cost genetic sequencing, new challenges will arise for clinicians, policymakers and citizens to ensure the correct use of this data.
